There are three types of verbs in Japanese: inflectional verbs (usually called u-verbs or group 1 verbs いちぐるーぷ の どうし; 1グループの動詞, stem verbs (usually called ru-verbs or group 2 verbs に ぐるーぷ の どうし; 2 グループの動詞, and irregular verbs (usually called group 3 verbs さん ぐるーぷ の どうし； ３グループの動詞).

There are only two irregular verbs, する（to do / します）and くる（to come 来る ・きます/ 来ます.）
